light shoe video shoot idea

For the first shoe project : light shoe video.

I found small HD video camera so I tested how to attach it on my leg to shoot.
I found it has some problem when I saw the test video. It only shows the heel part, not all the back of shoe because it is too close.
I am thinking how to solve this problem to shoot better look.

Sha-Do Lamp by Peter Buning

The concept of the SHA-DO-lamps consists of illuminating the environment through individual shadow pantomimes.
The creation of the light is as important to the lamp as the design is.

The lamps can be adapted to their environment because of their flexible construction and casts every location in a very special light..

I think I can make mini version of pattern light like this with my own pattern.
And I will stick it on the bottom of the shoes. If I use colored paper, it will be more active.

This is about analysis and mathmatics.
But, it seems to be quite interesting. Especially the lines which spread out from the center naturally. Even though it is not a design work, the visual has an impact.

Research : Silhouette & Optical Pattern

I think this work used silhouette to fool viewer. It looks like 3d but it's 2d.

** Silhouette

A traditional silhouette portrait of the late 18th centuryA silhouette is a view of an object or scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior, with the silhouetted object usually being black. The term was initially applied in the 18th century to portraits or other pictorial representations cut from thin black card.

The term has been extended to describe the sight or image of a person, object or scene that is backlit, and appears dark against a lighter background. Because a silhouette emphasises the outline, the word has also been used in the fields of fashion and fitness to describe the shape of a person's body or the shape created by wearing clothing of a particular style or period.

Silhouette images may be created in any artistic media, but the tradition of cutting portraits from black card has continued into the 21st century.

Light creates sillhouette so I researched about light, too.

+ initial concept
I want to put moving silhouette image with light.
The backside of heel makes basic sillhouette and I want to put together it with the silhouette I creates.
Also I will add some light effect flows through the silhouette and it will be like club mood.

Research: from Dazzle to Optical art

** Dazzle camouflage

Dazzle Ships" redirects here. For the Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark album, see Dazzle Ships (album).
HMS Argus displaying a coat of dazzle camouflage in 1918Dazzle camouflage, also known as Razzle Dazzle or Dazzle painting, was a camouflage paint scheme used on ships, extensively during World War I and to a lesser extent in World War II. Credited to artist Norman Wilkinson, it consisted of a complex pattern of geometric shapes in contrasting colours, interrupting and intersecting each other.

** Optical art

Not to be confused with pop art or plop art.
Op art, also known as optical art, is a style[1] of visual art that makes use of optical illusions.

"Optical art is a method of painting concerning the interaction between illusion and picture plane, between understanding and seeing."[2] Op art works are abstract, with many of the better known pieces made in only black and white. When the viewer looks at them, the impression is given of movement, hidden images, flashing and vibration, patterns, or alternatively, of swelling or warping.

+ Op art in Fashion

1960's Op Art, Pop Art & Fashion
Art and fashion meet in the 1960's in the form of Op art and Pop art. Pop art and Op art were separate art movements but the public mixed them, much to the annoyance of the founding artists. The term Op-art was first coined by Time magazine. It was typified by the dramatic, trick-optic effects of line and contrasting areas of color.

Op Art was a term coined in 1964. Optically distorted geometric patterns in black and white produced a whole range of movements on a surface. When applied to fabric it created a new bold look in fashion and accessories. Op Arts primary goal was to fool the eye. Bridget Riley’s dazzling black-and-white paintings triggered an ‘op art’ fashion craze in the 1960's. Victor Vasarely was also an influence. Op's greatest moment was the "The Responsive Eye" exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in 1965.
